I asked Kobi to share her story of how she planned her wedding, from choosing her dress, her videographers, and other vendors, to experiencing the magic of her big day. She also gives some tips and advice for other brides who planning their own weddings.

How did you Choose the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove Resort for your wedding?

“I had never been to the Intercontinental in Sanctuary Cove before and because it was so close to our home we booked an appointment to meet the wedding coordinator and have a look around. The grounds and venue were beautiful and the chapel absolutely took my breath away. I remember looking at Michael as we walked in through the chapel doors, my eyes teared up and I was speechless! Goosebumps don’t lie! At that moment, we knew this was where we would get married.”

“Wedding planning started pretty quickly for us after we were engaged. We were both very excited and were planning on a short engagement. We started scouting locations first, looking at several venues before settling on the Intercontinental at Sanctuary Cove.”

How did you choose your wedding dress?

“My wedding dress was the next major purchase, it was really one of a kind and was one of the first that I tried on. It was ordered within three weeks of our engagement! I said yes to the dress and didn’t look back! Most of our key wedding vendors were locked in pretty early too and this made planning very easy and a lot less stressful.”

“I didn’t find wedding planning to be stressful at all! I loved every minute! In fact, I felt like there was a void when it was all over! All of our vendors were brilliant and worked with us every step of the way, even guiding us in the planning process.”

“The best part was seeing everything come together so beautifully on the day. All of the individual elements of the wedding planning process came together perfectly and we were able to make our dream wedding a reality.”

What was It like getting married in the Iconic Sanctuary Cove Glass chapel?

“The glass chapel was the highlight of the day, and it was everything I hoped for and more. The chapel is stunning, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in natural light and offer panoramic views of the water and the lush gardens. The chapel is spacious and elegant, with white chairs, a red carpet, and a beautiful altar.”

“The chapel was decorated with fresh flowers and it created a romantic and serene atmosphere. The ceremony was perfect, and I felt like a princess walking down the aisle. The staff were very attentive and helpful, and they made sure everything went smoothly.”

“The chapel was also very private and intimate, and we felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves. The glass chapel was the best choice for our wedding, and we will never forget it.”

Words of Advice about Videography

“A lot of family and friends told us that the day goes by so quickly and how easy it is to forget the most memorable moments from the best day of our lives. We decided very early that we wanted to be able to capture the day on video so we could relive all the memories of the day. It was important for us to be able to share that experience with our kids when we decided to start a family.”

“The best part of watching our videos was how perfectly Geoff managed to capture US. The day was documented perfectly, from the pre-wedding celebrations to the reception, but the most magical part was how effortlessly he represented our story and the love we have for each other and our family.”

“I couldn’t imagine not having our wedding video. There were so many beautiful moments in the film that we didn’t notice on the day. So many gestures and very special memories between my husband and I or with our friends and family that can’t be replicated again in that setting.”

“My advice to couples in the process of wedding planning would be to seriously consider making room in your budget for videography. You can relive your wedding in photos, but you can never get a second opportunity to record the special moments with family and friends that made your day so incredible. In years to come, we can look back and cherish those moments, when some of our family and friends may no longer be with us.”

“We did a lot of research on videography and we were looking for a high-quality product from an experienced videographer. “DJ Corey was excellent. We had two separate setups on-site, one on the fountain terrace for pre-dinner drinks and another at our reception venue in the Grange. Everything was seamless. The dance floor was full all night and the party continued until well after midnight.

“Our celebrant Jake Smith of Married by Jake was brilliant. We had met him previously when I was a bridesmaid at my best friend’s wedding. He had a vibrant and bubbly personality that was commented on by all of our guests. He had a way of making us feel at ease and was a perfect choice for us.”
