Amazing Wedding Vows Courtney and Rob

Shortly after their wedding at Horizon in Byron Bay I put together a short video clip of Courtney and Robert’s marriage vows as they were some of the most personal and unique I’ve heard in ten years filming weddings. After posting the clip to Facebook I was contacted by Love Stories TV, a wedding site that shares the work of wedding filmmakers from around world, who saw the clip and were interested in sharing it with their audience.

Fast forward a few months and I was told that the clip was now going to be submitted for an award in the Love Stories TV 2016 Film Awards. The category was “Most Likely to Make You Lol” and guess what? WE WON! I was so thrilled to hear our studio’s name called as they announced the award winners, live, in New York City. It was a public vote and we were up against some extremely talented videographers. It then became apparent that so many others out there enjoyed what Courtney and Rob said to each other just as much as I did.

“We both were very emotional when we saw our short video. It was so exciting and Rob watched the video on repeat for about five days. I couldn’t get through it without happy tears so I watched it quite a bit less but it means so much to us.”

“Rachel from Love Stories TV messaged us on Facebook and said they would love to feature our video. We nearly fell off our chair when we got an email saying it was nominated for an award a couple months later. So exciting to see talent being recognized and Geoff was so amazing on our wedding day. It definitely didn’t feel like we paid him to be there. It felt like we knew him our whole lives and it was a super bonus that he knew our photographer, Josh, so well too.” – Courtney Wilson

“We spent so long trying to pick a venue that meant something to us and had the feel of us to enter the rest of our lives together officially. As soon as we walked in we were sold. It was a dream come to life and nothing even compared after that. All our wedding party & us could stay for a few days, you could see the ocean but it was still quiet and beautiful farm style view over the mountains and it ticked all our boxes.”

“We loved that it had beautiful trees out the back and that we could have the wedding, cocktail hour and reception all in the same place, that was really important to us. We also loved that we didn’t have to leave the venue for our photos, it was so worth it to be able to get back to the party and celebrate. My style is very relaxed & boho and Rob’s is very formal and elegant so it was the perfect mix of us both.”

“When we were planning our wedding the best advice we were given was pick our top three things. Everything will get out of hand and there will always be things that differ from your original idea but if you have three main things you want then the rest doesn’t matter. Ours were:”

1. Each other
2. the food (married an Italian) / venue &
3. Videographer

“I always thought it would be really special to relive the entire day and I know that all of the special moments go by in such a flash so it was never a question that I wanted the best wedding videographer on the Gold Coast.”

“We picked Motion Art on recommendation from my manager at work actually and he couldn’t speak any higher of Geoff. It was so important to us to have a wedding video and I really believe that recommendations are the best. We watched a few of their videos online and were sold before we even emailed through.”

“I wouldn’t change my wedding day for the world. It was the best day of our lives. Looking back I wouldn’t have stressed about the little things so much and people not coming etc. It’s not even on your radar on the day and not worth the worry at all. Definitely recommend budgeting for a high quality photographer and videographer. They were worth every cent and then some! Find a celebrant that you have chemistry with and that values why you are getting married and in the way that you both want to.”
