Portland Wedding Video
Keith and I first met in college back in 1996 at Oswego State University. We both studied and worked in the same industry and have kept in touch over the years. So when he asked me to film his wedding I was of course honored to do so.
After a 20 hour flight from Australia and a 6 hour drive from New York I arrived in the state of Maine. A region of beautiful and untouched country landscapes providing the perfect setting for a wedding. The town of New Harbor is one of those typical, small American towns but blessed with panoramic ocean views and a famous lighthouse.
My day began there – filming the sunrise coming up over the Atlantic Ocean at 5am and followed by kayaking in Fossett’s Cove with Keith and a few of his mates. From there it was back to the Bradley Inn, where most of us were staying, to film the bride and groom getting ready. I can tell you it was a bit surreal watching a long time friend preparing for his big day.
The nuptials were held on a pier not far from the Inn with Heidi making her entrance by boat. I don’t think I have ever seen my friend cry, but when he started to get choked up during his vows he covered it up in typical Keith style.
This my first time using a Slider which you will see in a few shots in the earlier parts of the clip. The soundtrack by Keith Urban was also used as their first dance.
Thank you to Heidi & Keith for inviting me there to capture one of the happiest days in your lives. I wish you both nothing but the best in the many years ahead.
