Ithaca Wedding Video
Home to two prestigious universities, Ithaca is a town rich in history filled with amazing architecture and breathtaking views. When asked by my Aussie friends where it was I just replied “You know the movie Road Trip…” That seemed to spark their memories. It was also the beginning of Spring and a great time to be in New York State. All the trees were budding and nature was only a few weeks from turning green after one of the worst winters in recent memory.
Not only did I get to see my family again but also catch up with the groom after nearly 14 years. Jason and I went to college together and shared a room for a semester at Oswego State. One of his groomsmen, Tom, and his wife Sarah were also there – two more old friends from that same dorm. So this trip was more of a trip back in time for me.
The 20 hour flight and three hour drive was well worth the sites I saw. I began the day by touring the town and filming many of the features Ithaca had to offer. Then it was off to the couples’ house for Pixie’s preparations. It was bit of a shock when I finally ran into Jason, Tom & Sarah at the church awhile later, but it almost felt like we had seen each other just the other day. Time can be funny like that sometimes.
A few hours later we arrived at the wedding reception. The Lake Watch Inn has a unique feature of a wrap around cat walk which enabled me to get shots I can never usually get. I worked alongside award-winning wedding photographer Danielle Gerritsen from Gerritsen Photography. We had a blast and meshed together perfectly.
Congratulations Pixie & Jason! It was great seeing you all again and I wish you the best in your future life together.
