Tiffany & Tony // The Hyatt, Sanctuary Cove

December 13th, 2010

Tiffany & Tony were married in December at the Hyatt Chapel in Sanctuary Cove – a place I have filmed many times before.

One of things that really stood out to me on the day was the amazing landscapes we had during our location shoot at the Spit in Main Beach. The sun was shining, but the backdrop on the horizon was dark and cloudy – a great contrast and something not seen often.

I was fortunate to be working around two professional friends of mine: celebrant Karen Miles and photographer Josh White of White Pearl Photography.

Filmed with a Canon 5d Mark II

Kristee & Nev // An Island Hideaway

November 17th, 2010

Kristee & Nev are from Melbourne and decided to fly to the Gold Coast and host their big day here.

The boat ride to South Stradbroke is always picturesque, when the weather cooperates, and the guests seemed to enjoy the short ferry to the island while soaking up the scenery.

I have filmed quite a few weddings at An Island Hideaway now and owners Michele & Bennie always get rave reviews about their venue.  I always look forward to my shoots there.

Filmed on a Canon 5d Mark II and viewable in HD.

Kellie & Josh // You Make Me Smile

November 4th, 2010

It’s hard not to sense the great chemistry that Kellie & Josh have by watching the clip. You can tell they are very much in love and share a wonderful connection between the two of them.

All they did on the day was laugh and have fun and everything unfolded perfectly around them. A bright, sunny day for their ceremony at Ebenezer Park at Tweed Heads to the full moon and fireworks over the beach for their reception just down the road at Twin Towns.

I always say I see something different at every wedding I film and this time it was the bride arriving in a Volkswagen bug with the license plate reading “LovDub.” Classic stuff!

Three of my favorite suppliers on the day:

Hailey & Matt // Q1 – Gold Coast Wedding

October 22nd, 2010

“Wow! What can we say… You have such an amazing gift. You have given us such an incredible gift with your work, one that we could never have imagined. You have captured the true spirit and emotion of our day – All the while bringing in your own unique creativity to our dvd.

We fell more and more in love with your art with every second that we watched. You captured the tears, laughter, joy and love shared and turned it into something that now having seen it, don’t know how we can live without. Every step has been so simple and you made planning our day so easy. We fell in love with our highlight clip, which was a great treat while we were away on our honeymoon. Our family and friends have fallen in love with your work, and we all cannot speak highly enough of you and your art.

So thank you again Geoff for your talent – You have proved that having a videographer at a wedding is a MUST!”

Hailey & Matty
———————————————————————————————————————————
We filmed Hailey & Matt’s wedding ceremony at the top of the Q1 building on the Gold Coast and, despite the rain, it was a perfect day filled with a lot of emotion. The couple exchanged strong, heartfelt vows which left quite a few teary eyes in the room. Hailey’s dress was stunning and this small video clip is sure to convey the nerves and excitement felt by the couple.

Once again I had the pleasure of being around a great couple and accompanied by talented professionals like Gold Coast photographers Brad & Kara from Photographic Art, Makeup artist Donna Sullivan and celebrant Kate Guiney.  The reception was held at Colonial Golf Course based in Robina.

Haily and Matt’s wedding day is also featured in Queensland Brides Magazine’s Real Life Weddings.

Viewable in high definition and filmed with a Canon 5d Mk II.

Kara & Brad // Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast

October 22nd, 2010

How do you impress two friends who are in the wedding industry themselves, at the top of their game as photographers and have seen your work before and have worked with you?

You ask one of Australia’s finest cinematographer’s to help you out of course!

My good friend Daniel from No Limit Pictures, based near Sydney, was gracious enough to lend his time and talent for this shoot with me. I couldn’t help but be a bit nervous the night before wondering how it would all go. How the weather would be, how Dan and I would mix as shooters and adding the Master of Ceremonies to my list of duties for the day.

It all turned out perfectly!

Choosing the right song for each couple is one of the hardest choices I have before editing. Using a different song would completely alter how the story goes and how it is perceived. I knew Kara and Brad liked Bon Jovi especially since the groom was blasting it during his preparations.

If you watch carefully enough you will see things happen to the beat with a few natural segues. Marrying the footage between Dan and I was seamless at times which made the editing flow so well.

Of course the day was made possible with the help of some amazing professionals in the wedding industry:

Celebrant: Clarah Luxford
Makeup & Hair: Allure Professional Makeup & Hair (Julie & Kerryn)
Photobooth: Flash Functions
Wedding Singer: Elly Hart
Performers: Sex & Chocolate
Wedding venue: Royal Pines Resort
Flowers:  Divine Wedding Flowers

Congratulations Kara and Brad! I hope this will allow you to relive your day for years to come.

Nikki & Josh // If It’s Love

October 15th, 2010

The day began with me relaxing with the girls as they got ready at the Q1 building. Even though it was another rainy October day it wasn’t going to dampen anyone’s spirits as the girls laughed and enjoyed themselves.

I didn’t see the boys until I arrived at Arundel Hills Country Club where the weather forced the nuptials to be held inside. Josh was all smiles when I first saw him, but his emotions got the better of him when he saw Nikki walk down the aisle.

Celebrant Helen Murray conducted a beautiful ceremony which also involved the couples’ two children. After that we all braved the rain to get some footage around the grounds and Lauren from Lauren joy Photography was there for all the snaps.

The rain kept the golfers away but in their place came the kangaroos. I was lucky enough to capture two of them boxing and with the bridal party being mostly Kiwi’s they really had a blast watching their playful nature.

Clip is HD ready – slower Internet connections please allow the content to load before watching.

Jasmine & Robert, wedding highlights

June 16th, 2010

I was really looking forward to this wedding shoot and, after meeting up with Jasmine a week before over coffee, I was even more so. She had me excited about what the day as well and I knew it would be perfect. This was only the second time I have filmed at the The Southport School Chapel and what a setting it was for a ceremony.

The rain stayed away and the sun stayed around long enough for me and photographer Derek Smith (who makes a cameo) to get some stunning shots. We had Jasmine spin in her wedding dress near a colorful tree and when a certain tiny guest joined in the fun it made for a magical moment. The candid shots I captured during the photo session really shows off their personalities and is what my style is all about.

Allure did the girls hair and makeup and they are brilliant. Check out their site here.

Sandra & Jaydem // An Island Hideaway

April 19th, 2010

“Wow, wow, wow!!! Geoff, thank you SO MUCH for the brilliant job you did. We can’t stop smiling!!! You are every bit the genius we knew you would be. Thanks for getting our little baby in there too! We can’t wait to see what magic you work with our video! Thank you so much!” – Sandra & Jaydem

Sandra & Jaydem were a wonderful couple and I had so much fun time capturing such an important day in their lives.  It all started out early with the girls as they made the preparations at a unit in Southport while the boys did what they do best by sitting around, watching footy and having a cold one at the couples’ place in Oxenford.  As soon as I walked in I noticed Sabre, their pet Bull Mastiff and I couldn’t leave without getting some playful shots of him.

The ceremony and reception was on South Stradbroke Island hosted by An Island Hideaway.  Where owners Bennie & Michelle always host a great wedding event.  Photographers Grant and Kathy from Ashford Studio flew up from Sydney to take the snaps and despite the fact this was our first time working together we gelled perfectly.  The sunset provided a sensational backdrop for the last few minutes with the bridal party before dark and I was able to film a few amazing moments on the beach.

As always, you can view the clip in high definition by clicking the HD button in the playable window.  I would love to hear your feedback too by clicking ‘Add comment’ just below this posting.  I spent nearly 5 hours on this edit so I really hope you all enjoy it!

Amanda & David // Colonial Golf Course, Gold Coast

April 10th, 2010

I think it would be tough for a couple to make any easier for me. When I met up with Amanda & David a few weeks before the wedding I knew it was going to be a fun event. Both of them were so at ease and laid back, but the emotions on the day were running quite high and it was hard not to get wrapped up in the atmosphere.

Colonial Golf Course in Robina was the setting and celebrant Karen Miles conducted the ceremony. I seem to be running into Karen a lot these days and she performed a brilliant service with the personal touch she brings. The couple laughed and smiled throughout the entire nuptials and must have stole more than a few kisses but saved the best for when it counted.

Amanda & David’s fun-loving nature can really be seen at the reception, but I won’t spoil it for anyone.
