I just had to add this little clip from a wedding I filmed in April at the Hyatt in Sanctuary Cove. This was possibly the cutest moment with a Page Boy I have ever seen. I won’t spoil it – have a look.

I was really looking forward to this wedding shoot and, after meeting up with Jasmine a week before over coffee, I was even more so. She had me excited about what the day as well and I knew it would be perfect. This was only the second time I have filmed at the The Southport School Chapel and what a setting it was for a ceremony.
The rain stayed away and the sun stayed around long enough for me and photographer Derek Smith (who makes a cameo) to get some stunning shots. We had Jasmine spin in her wedding dress near a colorful tree and when a certain tiny guest joined in the fun it made for a magical moment. The candid shots I captured during the photo session really shows off their personalities and is what my style is all about.
Allure did the girls hair and makeup and they are brilliant. Check out their site here.

“We woke up to an absolutely perfect day, weather wise !! The day was very relaxed & everything just flowed perfectly… a few champagnes for the girls while we were getting ready & some beers for the boys. The minute we pulled up to the ceremony i thought “This is it… all the planning & effort that went into our wedding & the day was finally here” Again, we could not have asked for the weather to be anymore perfect & the location was stunning (Point Danger at Coolangatta). Onto the beach for photos & a few drinks to celebrate & finished off with a beautiful sunset. You can probably tell by the footage that our reception was pretty loose… that is exactly what we wanted… everyone to just party & have a good time… I think we succeeded cause so many of our guests have commented on what fun they had
To sum it up… The whole day was perfect… & we had an absolute ball!!” – Danielle

Barbara filmed this for me and I must say she must have had her hands full at the reception! That must have been one wild night from the dance footage I saw (and some I couldn’t put in this video!)

Heidi & Paul were married at Braeside Chapel in Merrimac on the Gold Coast with their reception just up the road at Lakelands Golf Club.
I didn’t meet Paul til I rocked up to the ceremony site, but I could tell from he and his groomsmen that they were a lot of fun. The bride arrived by horse and carriage with and as you can tell by the video had quite the entourage. The nuptials were followed by a butterfly release and then we all zipped around the golf course to get our shots in while the sun waned.
It was great to see a few familiar faces in the crowd including Sheree & Nathan, whose wedding I also filmed late last year, and the brides mother Chrissie, who shares an American accent with me. Always good to hear another yank! I don’t run into them all that much.

“Wow, wow, wow!!! Geoff, thank you SO MUCH for the brilliant job you did. We can’t stop smiling!!! You are every bit the genius we knew you would be. Thanks for getting our little baby in there too! We can’t wait to see what magic you work with our video! Thank you so much!” – Sandra & Jaydem
Sandra & Jaydem were a wonderful couple and I had so much fun time capturing such an important day in their lives. It all started out early with the girls as they made the preparations at a unit in Southport while the boys did what they do best by sitting around, watching footy and having a cold one at the couples’ place in Oxenford. As soon as I walked in I noticed Sabre, their pet Bull Mastiff and I couldn’t leave without getting some playful shots of him.
The ceremony and reception was on South Stradbroke Island hosted by An Island Hideaway. Where owners Bennie & Michelle always host a great wedding event. Photographers Grant and Kathy from Ashford Studio flew up from Sydney to take the snaps and despite the fact this was our first time working together we gelled perfectly. The sunset provided a sensational backdrop for the last few minutes with the bridal party before dark and I was able to film a few amazing moments on the beach.

I think it would be tough for a couple to make any easier for me. When I met up with Amanda & David a few weeks before the wedding I knew it was going to be a fun event. Both of them were so at ease and laid back, but the emotions on the day were running quite high and it was hard not to get wrapped up in the atmosphere.
Colonial Golf Course in Robina was the setting and celebrant Karen Miles conducted the ceremony. I seem to be running into Karen a lot these days and she performed a brilliant service with the personal touch she brings. The couple laughed and smiled throughout the entire nuptials and must have stole more than a few kisses but saved the best for when it counted.
Amanda & David’s fun-loving nature can really be seen at the reception, but I won’t spoil it for anyone.

Amanda & Steve had their entire day at Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast with some added photos taken at nearby Porto Bellago in Emerald Lakes. This was the first wedding where I really utilized my Canon 5d Mark II as the main camera and the results were absolutely amazing. I had the privilege of working alongside Brad & Kara of Photographic Art. Not only are they immensely talented photographers, but they are great people and know how to have a lot of fun. I think it’s so important when professionals can work together at such an important event and it shows in the final product.
One of the highlights included Amanda arriving to the ceremony in her husband’s ‘67 Ford Mustang! The brides’ little cousin, Rylee, is also featured a bit in the clip as she had some adorable reactions during the shoot. This wedding was also the first time I have been completely doused with champagne as the bridal party celebrated during their photo session. But I didn’t mind much as it was an amazing shot!
The soundtrack, “Feel Like Home to Me,” was played during the couples’ first dance together.

Martin & Nan’s wedding day had a bit of everything. Singers, ballerinas and a mixture of two cultures.
The ceremony was held at Sacred Heart Church in Clear Island Waters and the couple celebrated the night away at the Sheraton Mirage in Main Beach. Taking photos on the day was David Magahy of Advanced Gold Coast Photography – who I have known for awhile but never worked with. The weather didn’t always cooperate for us, but the day went smoothly and we were able to capture many wonderful moments throughout.

Melynda & Michael were married at the Sheraton on the Gold Coast. The daylight was perfect for this shoot which made so many colours stand out.
The ceremony had a very special moment when Michael actually made vows to Melynda’s daughter, Bailey, which you will see a snippet of in the clip. It was quite a touching moment and something I have never witnessed before.
Alongside me was Derek Smith of Derek Smith Photography who I have worked with many times this year. The ceremony service was performed by civil celebrant Marilyn Gall who is also the bride’s Aunt. It always makes the day go so smoothly when you are surrounded by talented professionals and a great, easy going and fun couple.
This will be our final wedding highlights video for 2009 and we look forward to discovering new places and meeting many new people in 2010. Enjoy!

Kelly & Andy were married at one of my favorite places to shoot – An Island Hideaway on South Stradbroke Island. Of course there’s always good scenery with such a secluded setting, but it was the first time I have ever seen a sunset on one side of the horizon and a lightning storm right next to it! It was amazing and you will see it in the video. I think their reactions when they walk out of the chapel as husband and wife really sums up how they felt.
I worked with photographer Vaughan Kidd of Vaughan Kidd Photography who does make a few cameos in this video. The thumbnail picture you see for the clip is actually one of his stills. Reverend Col Shenfield conducted the ceremony.
