Melbourne Wedding Video

“What can we say? I don’t think there are any words that can describe just how grateful we are for what you have given us. After meeting you and spending hours watching your highlights we knew that you were going to produce something amazing. However, all of our expectations were exceeded and what you have created is beyond anything we ever imagined.”

“The way you captured our day is truly magical and we will cherish it for the rest of our lives. You really are a necessity for anyone getting married and we cannot recommend you highly enough. Not only have you given us this wonderful gift but you also made our day so relaxing and easy. You truly have an amazing talent and we are both so thankful for everything that you’ve done for us.”

“So once again, from the bottom of heart, thank you so much.”

Luke & Bella x

————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Bella & Lucas booked their wedding video before I had a chance to meet them face to face, but a cinematographers workshop in Melbourne last July gave me the opportunity to finally say hello.  So at a French patisserie in Hawthorne – over four orders of french toast – Lucas, Bella, her twin sister Melissa and I chatted about the big day.

It became clear to me after a few short minutes that not only would this be one my favourite weddings to film but also one of my favourite couples.  I could tell how excited they were not only about getting married but the fact that many family and friends would be making a huge effort to travel to the event from around the globe.  One example was Lucas’ brother, Gavin, who flew all the way from their native Scotland but could only stay for four days.  It takes me that long just to get over the jet lag!

I believe filming the preparations is a key component when producing a powerful short story such as this.  The girls were having so much fun getting ready and Bella’s excitement was infectious.  Both the bride and groom waited for my arrival before opening their cards to each other so I could capture their natural reactions.  I guess I shouldn’t mention that Luke mistakenly gave Bella a ‘Happy Birthday Card’! (Sorry mate I had to say it and if you have a quick eye you may be able to read it in the clip).

The beautiful grounds of the Lindenderry at Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula provided a stunning backdrop for the ceremony and reception.  There I was joined by Rochelle and Dean from Melbourne – based Preface Films, who I met through the same cinema workshop.  They gladly put their hands up to collaborate with me and pool our talents for the film.

Available in HD.  Enjoy!

Brie & Trent | Chateau Elan – Hunter Valley wedding video

Hunter Valley Wedding Video

“Geoff, I wanted to say a massive thank you for our breathtaking wedding DVD. It is amazing. Not only have I watched our preview 2,000++ times, I have now watched our full length video 2,000++ times! Throughout our entire planning process you were always there to help and nothing was ever too hard for you. You traveled to the Hunter Valley to shoot our special day and we can’t thank you enough for all your effort to help us remember our wedding day.

Your work is amazing and I would recommend you to any bride-to-be. Our wedding DVD will be treasured forever.

Thank you very very much!!!”

Brie and Trent McCudden
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
I first met Brie and Trent a year ago April when I filmed her sister Amie’s wedding video on the Gold Coast. When Brie told me they would be traveling to the Hunter Valley for their big day I was of course thrilled at the opportunity. Chateau Elan served as the venue for both the wedding ceremony and reception and it didn’t disappoint. This was one of the first wedding ceremonies to be held in their brand new chapel with a backdrop of beautiful landscapes.

The photo locations led us around the immediate area including a nearby vineyard with a quick stop at the bride’s Uncle’s farm. The whole shoot was laid back and fun which shows in the clip. All in all it was an amazing day and one I was happy to be a part of.

Paul Mailath of Perbenyik Productions helped me out on this wedding video and you will see a few of his Steadicam shots towards the middle of the clip. The trailer is viewable in high definition by clicking the HD button in the playable window. Slower connections may need to let the content load before playing. For any brides out there watching this clip we even offer this for your IPhone and in high definition as well!

Thanks and enjoy!

Pixie & Jason | USA | Ithaca wedding video

Ithaca Wedding Video

Home to two prestigious universities, Ithaca is a town rich in history filled with amazing architecture and breathtaking views. When asked by my Aussie friends where it was I just replied “You know the movie Road Trip…” That seemed to spark their memories. It was also the beginning of Spring and a great time to be in New York State. All the trees were budding and nature was only a few weeks from turning green after one of the worst winters in recent memory.

Not only did I get to see my family again but also catch up with the groom after nearly 14 years. Jason and I went to college together and shared a room for a semester at Oswego State. One of his groomsmen, Tom, and his wife Sarah were also there – two more old friends from that same dorm. So this trip was more of a trip back in time for me.

The 20 hour flight and three hour drive was well worth the sites I saw. I began the day by touring the town and filming many of the features Ithaca had to offer. Then it was off to the couples’ house for Pixie’s preparations. It was bit of a shock when I finally ran into Jason, Tom & Sarah at the church awhile later, but it almost felt like we had seen each other just the other day. Time can be funny like that sometimes.

A few hours later we arrived at the wedding reception. The Lake Watch Inn has a unique feature of a wrap around cat walk which enabled me to get shots I can never usually get. I worked alongside award-winning wedding photographer Danielle Gerritsen from Gerritsen Photography. We had a blast and meshed together perfectly.

Congratulations Pixie & Jason! It was great seeing you all again and I wish you the best in your future life together.

Keith & Heidi, Maine – USA

September 7th, 2010

Keith and I first met in college back in 1996 at Oswego State University. We both studied and worked in the same industry and have kept in touch over the years. So when he asked me to film his wedding I was of course honored to do so.

After a 20 hour flight from Australia and a 6 hour drive from New York I arrived in the state of Maine. A region of beautiful and untouched country landscapes providing the perfect setting for a wedding. The town of New Harbor is one of those typical, small American towns but blessed with panoramic ocean views and a famous lighthouse.

My day began there – filming the sunrise coming up over the Atlantic Ocean at 5am and followed by kayaking in Fossett’s Cove with Keith and a few of his mates. From there it was back to the Bradley Inn, where most of us were staying, to film the bride and groom getting ready. I can tell you it was a bit surreal watching a long time friend preparing for his big day.

The nuptials were held on a pier not far from the Inn with Heidi making her entrance by boat. I don’t think I have ever seen my friend cry, but when he started to get choked up during his vows he covered it up in typical Keith style.

This my first time using a Slider which you will see in a few shots in the earlier parts of the clip. The soundtrack by Keith Urban was also used as their first dance.

Thank you to Heidi & Keith for inviting me there to capture one of the happiest days in your lives. I wish you both nothing but the best in the many years ahead.

- Geoff
