Kelly & Andy were married at one of my favorite places to shoot – An Island Hideaway on South Stradbroke Island. Of course there’s always good scenery with such a secluded setting, but it was the first time I have ever seen a sunset on one side of the horizon and a lightning storm right next to it! It was amazing and you will see it in the video. I think their reactions when they walk out of the chapel as husband and wife really sums up how they felt.
I worked with photographer Vaughan Kidd of Vaughan Kidd Photography who does make a few cameos in this video. The thumbnail picture you see for the clip is actually one of his stills. Reverend Col Shenfield conducted the ceremony.

Lauren and Nathan were friends of another couple I filmed for in February this year – Kristy & James Mason. Barbara traveled down to Kingscliff to shoot this one for us at Peppers Resort. The Contemplation Pond in the gardens provided a great backdrop for the ceremony.
Natasha Smith of NSP Studio Photography took the photos on the day which saw the bridal party hop a party bus to take them to their location shoots. There were many laughs along the way – one of which you will see at the very end of this clip.

Kylie & Nick were married at Coolibah Downs on the Gold Coast with their reception at the Quality Inn in Mermaid Waters.
It’s always a good day when you know the other main suppliers at a wedding. Adam from Deep Grey Photography captured all the snaps and Karen Miles did a wonderful job conducting the ceremony. It was the first time I had ever seen a dog as the ring bearer, but that’s what I love about my job.

Tarnia & Dayle booked their wedding video with us in the middle of last year after I met them at an expo. The groom is a bit of a camera enthusiast so I think he was pleased when I told him we would be trying out some steadicam shooting.
Corne Lategan was my assistant on this shoot and got some brilliant footage with his Canon 5d Mark II on the steadicam Merlin. We also had the pleasure of working alongside world renowned photographer Marcus Bell, from Studio Impressions, for the first time.
Their ceremony and reception was held at Cedar Creek Lodges on Mt Tamborine. It was such a fantastic day and one that I know I will always remember. If you try not to blink I even make my first cameo in one of my own videos for the first time. Enjoy!
One note: I promise I didn’t pick this song just to go along with Dayle’s cigar smoke! It’s funny how things fall together.

Tom & Christine had their ceremony at Coolibah Downs in Nerang and were lucky to have Andrew Thurtell as their photographer.
Barbara was the video shooter on the day and did a wonderful job capturing some great expressions of the happy couple. The Italian-themed setting at Emerald Lakes provided the backdrop for the photo session of the day.

I can easily say this was one of the more full on wedding shoots I have done in awhile. I think the entire day had a bit of everything and even though it was a long day of filming, Amanda & Rodney made it easy for me. When you show up to the groom’s house and a Lamborghini is parked out front and the boys decide to through Rodney in the swimming pool – you know you are in for a fun day!
The girls got ready at Carmel by the Sea in Broadbeach and when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find make up artist Donna Sullivan there getting the girls ready for the big day. I have worked with her before which makes my job so much easier.
Their ceremony was at the Serbian Orthodox Church with their reception at Hope Island Golf Club. I worked with photographer Renee Brazel for the first time and had my other shooter, Barbara, from Fisheye Studio provide a second angle at the ceremony. Ben, a former groom of mine now turned video enthusiast, assisted me most of the day and couldn’t have picked a better wedding to see for the first time.

Wendy & Jason were married at St Stephen’s Cathedral in Brisbane with their reception at the Holiday Inn.
There were some interesting clips throughout the day like seeing the bride and groom coming out of their ceremony under field hockey sticks – that was a first for me. Quite a nice touch from Wendy’s friends. I think it would be tough for me to find two cuter kids as the page Boy and flower girl – they made it easy for me to get some fun footage.
I think my personal favorite shot was during the photo tour in the Roma Street Parklands. The photographer, Ryan Slect, set up Wendy’s flowers on the footpath while the couple shared a moment in the background. My new Canon worked beautifully here and it made a clip that I think I will remember for a long time. Check it out!
